Little Wickets SessionsWe believe enjoying Cricket should not be limited only to the summer months but should be enjoyed all year round!
Little Wickets Cricket is a programme designed for girls and boys in school years 3, 4 and 5 in mind, for the next steps of their development in continuing to gain confidence and ability to play cricket at this stage. All the activities are based on the CORE principles of Cricket - Batting, Bowling, Fielding, and Wicket-keeping and provide simple foundations required for developing and enhancing new and existing skills. Each cricket training session has a particular theme whether it be batting, bowling, catching, throwing or fielding but all of the elements of the sport are incorporated into all the sessions.
Our academy is open to children of all skill levels, whether your child is new to cricket or wants to build on what they already know, from beginners to experienced players. We offer a safe and inclusive space where your child can learn, and grow, as we improve their cricket skills. Your child will also have the opportunity to develop important life skills, such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.
Your child will also have the chance to make new friends and be part of a team. Join us for this exciting and enriching experience that will help your child thrive on and off the pitch.
Our sessions will include game-based play and activities designed by ECB iCoachCricket, to help children love the game, leaving them wanting to come back for more.
Little Wickets sessions are coached by ECB qualified coaches and support staff. Our experienced coaches will guide your child through various drills, exercises and games. And most importantly we will make sure they will all have fun in an engaging, encouraging environment overseen by Head Coach Romesh Paktsun and Assistant Coach Kate Ings.
At our Little Wickets sessions we are confident that your child will continue to improve their cricketing skills throughout the autumn - winter term with ROM Sports Coaching. We are certain when the cricket season starts again in April, that your child will be raring to step outdoors to show off their new skills, ability and will have the confidence to step into play their best cricket on a cricket pitch at their local cricket club throughout the summer!
Furthermore, your child will be able to continue their development path with ROM Sports Coaching throughout the years, leading onto Junior Wickets (school years 6, 7 and 8) squads leading them to get ready to play hardball cricket and continue their ongoing cricket future.
