Junior Wickets SessionsWe believe enjoying Cricket should not be limited only to the summer months but should be enjoyed all year round!
Junior Wickets Cricket is a programme designed for girls and boys in school years 7, 8 and 9 to develop 'the player as a whole'. A player-centred coaching approach will be followed where players are challenged with specific activities to develop their individual skills. We will work on your child's own strengths and sharpen their already developing technical, tactical, mental and physical skills. This will allow young players to bring out their personal style to improve their own game while being challenged at these sessions.
Our academy is open to children of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. We offer a safe and inclusive space where your child can learn, grow, as well as keep improving their cricket skills going into play youth or senior cricket in the future.
Whilst participating in our player development programme, your child will have the opportunity to develop important life skills, such as teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication and discipline.
Your child will also have the chance to make new friends and be part of a team. Join us for this exciting and enriching experience that will help your child thrive on and off the cricket pitch and continue their ongoing cricket future.
At these age groups, our sessions will be player-centric and player needs' targeted. The sessions will include fixed, variable and game based drills and enhanced coacing designed guided by ECB iCoachCricket. The player will be introduced to hard ball cricket, when they are confident and ready to make the transition from soft ball to hard ball.
Junior Wickets sessions are coached by ECB qualified coaches and support staff. Our experienced coaches will encourage, motivate and guide your child to progress to stages 'train to train' and 'train to compete'. This group will be coached by Head Coach Romesh Paktsun.
At our Junior Wickets sessions we are confident that your child will continue to improve their cricketing skills throughout the Autumn - Winter term with ROM Sports Coaching giving them the ability and confidence to be able to transion to play hard ball cricket as youths stepping in to play adult cricket at a club.As the next step, your child will be able to continue their development path with ROM Sports Coaching throughout the years, leading them onto Young Wickets (school years 9, 10 and 11) squads leading them to excel in a specialised specific core principal, and succeed in to competing competitively. 1:1's, coaching plans, small group sessions can be tailor-made private sessions can also be booked directly; please enquire with Coach Romesh.
